Yair Snir has been Microsoft’s Corp. Director of Business Development & Strategy Europe, driving the company’s activity across Europe and Israel. In his role he has worked with Microsoft’s senior leadership and stakeholders across the various product groups, on finding relevant targets for M&A and strategic partnerships in the region. In addition, he has worked closely and is in-charge of the company’s relation with leading VCs and investors in the region.
Among the M&A processes that he has driven are Aorato, Equivio, N-Trig, Adallom, Secure Islands (Israel) and Wunderlist (Germany), as well as multiple strategic-partnerships with companies such as Pyramid Analytics, Taboola, etc. Prior to joining Microsoft Mr. Snir was with ECI Telecom, where he was the Head of Corp. Strategy and Business Development, working closely with the company’s management and board.
Previously, he was a senior strategy consultant with one of Israel’s leading consulting firm- Rotem Strategy, working with leading global and Israeli firms across a wide range of industries. Earlier in his career path, he had worked in the Bio-tech and Hi-tech industries, where he established and managed R&D groups, wrote patents, published scientific papers in leading journals and presented in multiple conferences worldwide.
In parallel to his work with ECI Telecom and Microsoft Yair has been a lecturer and a project faculty at the Global Consulting Practicum (GCP) at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Hertzelya, Israel.
Yair holds B.Sc in Computer Science and Computational Biology from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel and MBA from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Hertzelya, Israel.
