Gianluca Galletto is an entrepreneur and President of DG Advisors, with 23 years of experience in the private and public sector with a strong background in economics and finance. Gianluca advises startups on growth strategies in the US and internationally, and governments in their efforts to foster tech ecosystems. He is the former Director of International Affairs at the New York City Economic development corporation (NYCEDC). His mandate was to attract foreign direct investments, help NYC businesses expand globally and establish partnerships with cities around the world to share best practices, with a focus on innovation sectors. During his tenure, Gianluca expanded the World to NYC program to lure foreign businesses to New York City, launched the International Innovators Initiative (IN2NYC), the first citywide program in the nation to retain and attract foreign entrepreneurs by providing uncapped H1B visas, and started the NYCEDC Global Business Exchange, a global network of connected city ecosystems, with NYC as its hub, providing reciprocal soft-landing platforms for innovative companies expanding into NYC and in partner cities.
From 1998 to 2009, he worked at Muzinich & Co., a world-class $30B asset manager, where he led the business development division. Prior to moving to the US, he worked as a consultant for a private company and for the EU Commission. He speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish and holds an MA in International Economics from Yale University and a BA/MA in Economics, Business and Law from Bocconi University in Milan. Gianluca is a former Fulbright scholar and a dual US/Italian citizen and resides in New York City.
