Jama Adams is Founder and Partner at SidePorch, a consulting group that partners with mission-aligned innovators across the spectrum to drive demonstrable, positive economic, social and environmental impact into core operations. Clients span sectors and industries, from Fortune 50 companies and international development agencies, through public-private partnerships, startups, universities and non-profit groups.

Throughout her career, Jama has mobilized purpose-led individuals and organizations across sectors to turn big visions into reality, with leaders like Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett, Michael Bloomberg, Marshall Ganz, Nancy Pelosi and others.

The first hire on the Giving Pledge, she designed and led the strategy to recruit 92 (now 170) families who have pledged more than $500 billion and changed global philanthropic norms. Next, Jamaworked with cutting-edge leaders integrating the best of the business, investing and nonprofit worlds at philanthropic investment firm Omidyar Network.  She has served two Democratic Leaders of theU.S. Congress and worked on various campaigns and political conventions and as Director of Public Affairs for New York City Parks.

She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where she was a Kennedy Fellow, co-taught a graduate-level course on community and political organizing and wrote a thesis on civic engagement.  Jama lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family.
