Jean Coumaros is an Executive Vice President at Capgemini Consulting where he leads the Global Financial Services business.

After graduating from ESCP Europe in Paris in 1992, Jean spent two years in Buenos Aires (Argentina) as a credit analyst with BNP Paribas.
He then returned to Paris and joined the Financial Services team of Gemini Consulting in 1995.
In 2000, Jean joined Oliver Wyman Financial Services where he spent 11 years. He was promoted to Partner in 2003. In 2006, Jean was appointed Paris Office Head. In 2007, he took the role of Head of Retail and Business Banking for the EMEA Region. At the same time, Jean became a member of Oliver Wyman Global Management Committee.
In September 2011, Jean returned to Capgemini to lead Financial Services Consulting globally.

Jean has worked with a number of leading banks, credit specialists and insurance companies on such topics as digital transformation, risk and value analytics, customer experience, compliance, IT strategy or operational efficiency.

Jean has particular experience in the area of consumer finance where he is considered one of the leading European experts. He was the author of 2 reports: “Consumer Finance in Europe: Riding the Wave” in 2005 and “Consumer Finance in Europe: Back to Reality” in 2008. He was the keynote speaker or chair in many European Consumer Finance events over the past 10 years (Eurofinas Annual Conventions in 2016, 2014, 2010, 2009 and 2007; EFMA Conferences in 2012, 2011, 2009, 2008, 2006 and 2005; ECRI Roundtable in 2005). He is frequently consulted by Regulators and the media on the topic of Consumer Finance.

Jean has also developed strong expertise around Digital Transformation in the Banking industry. He was the author of several Points of View which generated a lot of attention in the market: “The Future of Bank Branches: Coordinating Physical with Digital” in 2013, “Backing up the Digital Front: Digitizing the Banking Back Office” in 2014, “Big Data Alchemy: How can Banks Maximize the Value of their Customer Data?” in 2015, “Smart Contracts in Financial Services: Getting from Hype to Reality” in 2016…

Jean Coumaros is 48. A French National, he is fluent in English and Spanish and has professional knowledge of Italian. He lives in London with his family.
