ENTREPRENEUR AND INVESTOR

Florent Peyre is a NY-based entrepreneur who is currently helping various companies (TradeIt, BitSence, TinyClues, Predictice, Hivy) and accelerator programs (Techstars NYC, MIT Design X, 1776).

Previously, Florent was the Co-Founder & COO, a venture-backed company that raised $10m to bridge the gap between big data, internet of things and local businesses leveraging computer vision and public and private video feeds. Placemeter was acquired by Netgear (NTGR) in December 2016.

Before that, Florent started CasaHop, a social travel company focused on the home exchange space. The company was backed by Lerer Ventures, First Round Capital and a few other prominent investors.

Prior to that, Florent served as VP of Strategy & Business Development for Gilt City, member of the Gilt Groupe and was one of its founding members, scaling the business to 150 employees and multi-million dollars revenue per month. Prior to joining Gilt City, Florent presided over Hachette Filipacchi Media’s Emerging Platforms group and launched several mobile and iPad applications for Hachette’s brands, Before that, he handled corporate and business development for Hachette’s digital division. There he signed several strategic deals including the launch of a new lifestyle destination for Microsoft (Glo). He holds an International Law degree from Sorbonne University and a Masters degree from Sciences Po Paris.
